I am an assistant professor in the Economics Department at the University of California Irvine.
My research explores how macroeconomic policy, education, and health investments shape inequality and opportunity.
At the intersection of economics and public health, my work seeks scalable solutions to the nation's unsustainably expensive chronic disease epidemic.
Food Is Medicine at UCI
I lead UC Irvine’s Food is Medicine (FIM) initiative, advancing to the final application stage for a potential $22 million federal investment from the prestigious PCORI Phased Large Awards for Comparative Effectiveness Research ($22 million federal investment).
Our multidisciplinary team unites national leaders in economics, medicine, nutrition, and community engagement, working with 30+ partner organizations across the U.S.
